I appreciate what Ms. Cash is showing us here but real life, more realistic examples please! I am advanced level student and I find the examples at a level that defies comprehension. I will look at other books by this author before I buy.The content is fantastic but the execution is too much!

100 Chinese Core Sentence Patterns Quinn Cash Better Chinese Now Book 7 edition by Quinn Cash Reference eBooks Reviews
I was excited when I saw this book was available for free, and sadly I found out why...
This book requires a lot of work on the part of the reader to really learn anything.
It is formatted with a phrase, pinyin of the phrase, explanation of the phrase and then a sample sentence (but no pinyin for the example).
One of the first entries in the book looks like this
(Edit seems to be turning the Chinese characters in this review into boxes...)
''
After all
Pinyin Bi4Jing4
(The author/editor didn't even bother to convert the tone marks to bìjìng! If I know how to convert tone marks, the author/editor ought to be able to do it too. It makes a big difference in readability.)
There is a brief discussion on the usage.
Then the example is given ''''''''''''''''
There is no pinyin to accompany the sentence, just a translation "After all, I am an American. Speaking English with you is no problem."
The reason I chose this example is that I actually knew all the characters and was able to type them out. The majority of the sentences have characters I do not yet know after a year of study. Perhaps the author would consider that I am not suitably advanced for using this book, but the sentence constructions aren't that difficult, I just don't know all the characters.
Especially for a ebook, it is really important to include pinyin for everything because it is very difficult to look up a character without it. I have to go to my phone or a web-site that allows you to search by drawing the character. It's not impossible, but it really should have just been included.
